As the weather gets warmer, there are a list of activities and events to enjoy in the Chicago area this weekend.

Friday, June 10 to Sunday, June 12: Ribs and entertainment are a great way to spend the warm weekend. Ribfest Chicago is back with 15 rib vendors and 16 various concessions on Lincoln Avenue. A $5 suggested donation is requested at the gate entrance that will go toward worthy causes in Northcenter community

Saturday, June 11 to Sunday, June 12: From art to music and everything in between, the Wells Street Art Festival has fun for the whole family. The festival has over 225 local, regional and international artists participating. Various cover bands and food selections are available throughout the festival. On Saturday the event runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wells Street between North Avenue and Division Street.

Saturday, June 11 to Sunday, June 12: Chicago's lower west side will be packed from Saturday to Sunday with over 25 Illinois Food Truck Owner Association affiliated food trucks. The Pilsen Food Truck Social will be held from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m on18th Street at Allport. A $5 donation is optional to go toward the association.

Friday, June 10 to Sunday, June 12: Lake Michigan is chosen as the first freshwater venue to host one of the America's Cup world series events this summer. Navy Pier will host the event as six international sailboat teams will be racing to qualify for the 2017 America's Cup in Bermuda.

Saturday, June 11 to Sunday, June 12: Bring your family to spend time at the Printers Row Lit two-day literary festival. Children can enjoy storytelling, costumed characters, performances and much more coordinated by educational and cultural groups. The festival is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m around the area of Dearborn Street, from Congress to Polk streets.

Thursday, June 9 to Sunday, June 12: The production of The Sound of Music runs through June 19 at the Cadillac Palace Theatre. Performances are Thursday-Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday 2 p.m. with an addition performance on June 12 at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, June 11 to Sunday, June 12: Browse work from more than 110 juried artists from across the country at the Promenade of Art in Arlington Heights. Artists will showcase and sell original work within a variety of categories. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days Downtown Arlington Heights at 121 West Campbell (intersection of Vail and Campbell).

Friday, June 10 to Sunday, June 12: The 51st annual Andersonville Summarfest is returning this weekend for music, dancing, entertainment and food. A $10 gate donation is requested. Kids under 12 and seniors are free. The fest is Friday from 5-10 p.m. and Saturday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m along Clark Street from Foster to Catalpa.

Friday, June 10 to Sunday, June 12: Deadmau5 is one of the many EDM artists performing at Spring Awakening. This event is an 18+ event held at Addams/Medill Park. Doors open at 1 p.m. each day.

There is a timed 5K at 10 a.m. and an untimed 1-miler at 11 a.m followed by a free beer after-party with food for sale. To participate in the Beer Run it is $60. Registrations begins at 9 a.m. the day of the event.
