One of Chicago’s most iconic mansions has hit the market with one of the largest asking prices in the city.
The Gold Coast’s Thompson House, built by the Cobb and Frost architectural firm in 1888, was listed for $21.9 million, the second-highest listing in the city behind only a $50 million listing in the Lincoln Park neighborhood.
The six bedroom, six-and-a-half bathroom mansion on North Dearborn is a nationally registered historic landmark.
It was listed in May, but now, for the first time, photos of inside the home have been released.
“Experience true gentility and sophistication & own a piece of Chicago history with a property that was built to enchant for centuries,” the listing reads.
The mansion features a main house, coach house, three-car garage, a second-floor terrace and a courtyard with heated floors. Inside, there’s vaulted Cathedral ceilings, a sauna and steam room, a game room, a hot tub and an elevator.
