It appears Microsoft founder Bill Gates and his wife, Melinda, may have just purchased a home in Chicago.
According to multiple reports, the couple appears to have purchased a $1.25 million, five-bedroom, 3,000-square-foot home in the city's Hyde Park neighborhood.
The Chicago Tribune reports the purchase was made through a land trust on April 4 via Seattle attorney Christopher Carletti, who has previously represented Gates in property purchases. In addition, the deed reportedly states that property tax bills should be sent to a Seattle office park in which the sole occupant is the Gates family's private business interests.
The son of the world's top philanthropists is preparing to attend college and the home's proximity to the University of Chicago (it's located across the street) has prompted speculation.
The listing agent and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation have not responded to NBC Chicago's requests for comment.
