A Chicago Public Schools teacher was stabbed Wednesday while attempting to break up a fight inside a Pilsen Elementary School.

Chicago police responded to Pickard Elementary School, 2301 W. 21st Place in Chicago's Pilsen Neighborhood, around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday.

The 27-year-old teacher got bumped while attempting to stop a fight in the hallway during school dismal. He started to feel pain in his shoulder and realized someone had stabbed him.

The teacher suffered two cuts to his shoulder and needed six stitches to close the gash, according to police.  The weapon is believed to have been a box cutter.

No one is in custody.
