The Englewood neighborhood erupted with violence early this morning as six people were wounded, and one man was killed in three different shootings.

One shooting took place while cops were on the scene.

Police responded to the second incident, which occurred around 12:50 a.m. at 66th and Marshfield when four men were injured.

One, a 26-year-old, was shot in the back; another 26-year-old was shot in the leg; a 24-year-old suffered multiple gunshot wounds; and a 26-year-old was shot in the buttocks. Each was being treated at an area hospital.

While police investigated the incident another round of gunshots rang out from down the street and the scene turned to melee. Police went running and bystanders hit the ground. Cops originally thought they were being shot at, but it turned out differently.

In the second shooting, which appeared to have sprung from an argument that was going on down the street, a woman was grazed the head and a man was shot in the buttocks. A vehicle was also shot and began leaking gasoline.

In yet a third shooting in the area, this one about an hour-and-a-half before the incident that left four men injured, a 30-year-old man was shot and killed. Brian Moore died at Mount Sinai hospital at 1:38 a.m.

Police say the incidents are not connected.  No one has been charged and detectives are investigating.
