Chicago Police are investigating after a person was caught on camera smearing feces on cars in the city's Bridgeport neighborhood.
Multiple people have reported feces on their cars and doors in the South Side neighborhood, they told NBC 5.
Chicago police confirmed at least one woman filed a report late last month with 9th District officers saying that someone was spreading feces over her vehicle, which was parked near the 700 block of West 30th Street.
The victim told police she had the incident recorded on video.
Another victim, Tony Wu, also recorded video of a person wiping feces on the windshield and passenger door handle of his Lexus.
The footage, which was obtained by NBC 5, shows a person appearing to rub feces around the vehicle and in door handles.
"I saw the initial splatter on the front windshield and it was smeared in a deliverate way," Wu said. "Then I saw the newspaper hanging off my passenger door."
Photos of damage from multiple vehicles showed what appears to be paper covered in feces smashed into door handles and poop smeared across windshields. One photo also showed feces smashed onto the front door of a home in the area.
Wu said neighbors have reported similar incidents in the area.
"We are very upset," said resident Bing Mei, who was also victimized by the poop vandal.
Jack Chen said his friend's white Mercedes SUV had feces smeared on almost every door handle. Chen said the same scene was also spotted on another black SUV in the same area.
"In one day it happened to four cars in the morning on this street," Chen said.
Police said detectives are still investigating the first reported incident but "right now they have no new leads or information."
