Fenger High School will see beefed up security presence today after student Derrion Albert was beaten to death Thursday.

Police declined to give further details of Monday's security plan for Fenger High School, but the plan is put in place to deal with a festering gang problem at the school.

"Word is there will be more violence at the school on Monday. Don't think this is going to end," Rev. Victor Grandberry, a community representative for the local school council, who said some Fenger parents will keep their children home today told the Chicago Tribune.

Meanwhile, family members believe Albert was fatally beaten on his way from school for refusing to join a South Side gang. But some witnesses say he was a bystander who was swept into the violent fight.

A vigil for Albert is planned outside the school Monday afternoon.

Meanwhile, police are investigating the incident, including video taken by a person at the scene.

The video, which shows several people beating and stomping a person believed to Albert, has been turned over to police.

Police say the video is being used to identify people at the scene.
