The Buzz: Cunningham was elected to the House of Representatives in November of 2010, representing Illinois' 35th District. He formerly worked in the Cook County Sheriff's Office as director for communications for 16 years and chief of staff for four.
Cunningham's campaign includes a focus on worker's rights, public education, public safety, the criminal justice system, tougher laws on sex offenders and stricter regulation for identity theft protection.
As a state representative, Cunningham has been appointed to the Appropriations Public Safety Committee as well as Cities and Villages, Judiciary II-Criminal Law, Labor and Transportation: Vehicles & Safety.
