Secret Service officials were on campus at Waukegan High School as part of an investigation Tuesday, a district spokesman said, but it was not immediately clear why.
Nick Alajakis, the spokesman for Waukegan District 60, confirmed in an email the Secret Service was on the school’s campus but said he could not provide further information.
The Secret Service does not comment on or confirm investigations as a matter of policy.
Alajakis said students and staff were not believed to be in any danger.
