Man, Woman Killed in South Suburban Home Identified

Authorities have identified the two people that were killed in south suburban Glenwood on Thursday.

Delphenia Williams, 68, and 33-year-old Irven S. Williams, were pronounced dead inside their home in the 800 block of East 194th Street at 11:15 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Around 3:30 p.m., police received a call from a man who "stated that he had killed his son and his wife," Glenwood Police Chief Demitrous Cook said Thursday night.

Officers responded to the home and found a man "injured with what appeared to be self-inflicted injuries inside of the garage," according to Cook.

Authorities said they extricated the man and entered the home to find two people dead on the second floor.

One of the victims was discovered in a bedroom and another in the hallway in what Cook described as a "bloody scene."

"They were good people," neighbor Mike Stephens said of the family.

Sheron Davis, who said he was Irven's best friend, told NBC 5 he can't imagine what led to his and his mother's deaths, adding that the family and community needs strength and prayers.

Police said they believed it was an "isolated" and possibly domestic-related incident. It was not clear if charges would be filed.
