2 Men Murdered at Party in Stony Island Park

Four men were shot and two killed outside a party in the Stony Island Park neighborhood early Sunday.

At 2:30 a.m., four men in their 20's were sitting in a car at 8434 S. Euclid Ave., when someone in a passing vehicle opened fire, according to South Chicago District police and ChicagoBreakingnews.

Michael Chatman, 22, was pronounced dead at 3:21 a.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

He was shot multiple times in the upper body, sources said.

A second man, also 22, was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds, according to police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak.

Another 22-year-old man was listed in stable condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the back, according to a release from police News Affairs.  A 21-year-old man who was also shot was in stable condition at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County.

The victims were in a vehicle when they were fired upon by unknown suspects, the release said.

Several shell casings were found at the scene but it is unclear who opened fire, police said.

No one was in custody as of 6 a.m., the release said.

Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
