Freddy Krueger Is Hiring

Remake of horror flick needs local talent

Laid-off workers, this could be your lucky break. Think getting that pink slip was nightmare? Now you can put relive it on Elm Street and get paid.

Producers for the remake of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" are looking for pretty much anyone who fits the description of  "real" to join Freddy Krueger as an extra.

Sorry, the supernatural slasher role is already take by Oscar-nominated actor Jackie Earle Haley. But there is a call out for real press people, real police, real firefighters, real coffee shop baristas, real bookstore clerks -- who don't really talk.

So if you're available between June 22 and July 1, email your vital statistics along with a photo (to prove you are "real").

New Line Productions, the maker of the film, has been shooting at high schools in suburban Chicago and around Gary, Indiana.
