Daisy Gutierrez, 19, of the 5100 block of South Springfield Avenue, was charged with first-degree murder, and Salvador Gutierrez, 56, of the 8300 block of South Scottsdale Avenue, was charged with concealing a homicidal death, police said Sunday.

Police were called to Salvador Gutierrez's home, on the city's South Side, on Friday after neighbors complained of a horrible smell coming from the yard.

"I find it unbelievable because I've been living here and they say the body has been here for five months," neighbor Kayla Taylor said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office confirmed a dismembered body was found at the scene and an autopsy Saturday revealed the man died from multiple cuts, stab wounds and assault, the medical examiner's office said.

Officials identified the victim as Jose Reyes, from the Humboldt Park neighborhood, who went missing May 21.

Prosecutors said Reyes was the brother of the teen's ex-boyfriend and allege he was lured to the home by the 19-year-old woman, whose new boyfriend then attacked him with a pipe and knife.

The teen allegedly watched as her boyfriend, who was not publicly named, dismembered the body and buried the bags in a hole that was dug behind the home by her father, Assistant State's Attorney Heather Kent said Sunday.

Kent said Salvador Gutierrez spent three hours digging the hole.
Daisy Gutierrez and her boyfriend then fled to New Jersey, officials said.

Police said Daisy Gutierrez gave statements implicating herself as an active participant in the homicide. During a court appearance on Sunday, she was ordered held on $2 million bond. Her father was ordered held on $500,000 bond.
