The Cubs are bringing Kyle Schwarber back to Chicago.
Schwarber was put back in the lineup for the team's game against the Milwaukee Brewers Thursday just two weeks after he was sent down to the minor leagues.
The beloved slugger will be in left field and batting fifth in the game.
The Cubs sent Schwarber to Triple A-Iowa hoping that he would be able to find his groove again after a rough start to the 2017 season, and it appears that's what he did.
According to reports, the Cubs will place pitcher John Lackey on the 10-day disabled list to make room for Schwarber on the roster. Lackey, who pitched on Wednesday afternoon at the Friendly Confines, is dealing with plantar fasciitis and will hope to recover from the ailment over the All-Star break, which begins after Sunday's game.
Schwarber, who was batting a paltry .171 with 12 home runs when he was sent down by the Cubs, has been taking Triple-A pitching by storm, as he hit four home runs in two games over the Fourth of July weekend for the Iowa Cubs in Des Moines.
In total, Schwarber drove in nine runs and batted .343 in 11 minor league games. He posted an excellent .477 on-base percentage as well, giving fans hope that he has figured out the issues in his approach that led to his big league struggles.

Schwarber kept right on slugging on Saturday night as he played in the nightcap of a doubleheader against the Express. In the first inning, Schwarber hit a pitch on the outside corner and deposited it over the left field wall to put the Cubs ahead and give himself his third home run in two games.
In the fifth inning, Schwarber struck again. He smashed a solo home run, his fourth in two days, in the frame to give the Cubs a 5-2 lead.
