Marcus Davis was charged with criminal transmission of HIV and three counts of aggravated sexual abuse

A Waukegan man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy, and transmitting HIV to the teen, police said in a news release issued Friday.

Marcus Davis, 29, was charged with criminal transmission of HIV and three counts of aggravated sexual abuse. According to the Lake County Sheriff's Office, Davis met the teen on a dating app when the victim was 15 years old.

Police started an investigaton after the boy's parents reported the situation.

Detectives learned Davis drove to the boy's Lake County home on several occasions, and the two allegedly engaged in sexual acts. Davis transmitted HIV to the teen, and didn't tell the teen he was an HIV carrier until the two had multiple sexual encounters, police said.
