One person was critically wounded in a shooting Friday afternoon near a south side high school, authorities said.
The person was shot shortly before 1 p.m. on the 8200 block of South Princeton Avenue, said fire department spokesman Richard Rosado. The victim was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious to critical condition, he said.
The police department didn't immediately have details on the shooting, saying only that there was "police activity" in that area.
Simeon Career Academy High School is located at 8147 S. Vincennes Ave., a few blocks from the shooting location.
