A 5-year-old boy missing after his mother's vehicle was taken during an "aggravated carjacking" Wednesday evening has been found and is safe, police said.
Around 7 p.m., someone approached the vehicle in the 11700 block of South Harvard Avenue, displayed a weapon and took the vehicle with the boy in the backseat of the car, News Affairs Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti said.
The vehicle, a four-door Chevy Blazer, has also been recovered, police said.
