A body was found in the basement of a southwest suburban home destroyed by fire Tuesday afternoon.
The fire broke out about 2 p.m. at a home in the 10000 block of Pembrook Ct., just off Laraway Road, and west of U.S. 45, in Frankfort.
The fire was described by officials as fast-moving and the home was engulfed in flames. A local building inspector was in the neighborhood and reported seeing flames shooting out of the 2 1/2 story house.
Neighbors report a couple reside at the home.
Fire officials said the house was destroyed in the blaze. They did not release the identity of the body.
