Another ‘Empire' Actor Arrested in Chicago, But on Traffic Offense

Bryshere Gray plays a younger brother of Jussie Smollett's character on the Chicago-based Fox TV show

Another "Empire" actor has been arrested in Chicago, but this time on a traffic-related offense.

Police said Bryshere Gray, who plays a younger brother of Jussie Smollett's character on the Chicago-based Fox TV show, was pulled over for a "registration issue" while driving a Rolls Royce Thursday in the city's Logan Square neighborhood.

Authorities said Gray, 25, told officers he had a license but it was not with him and he didn't have insurance on the vehicle. He was charged with one misdemeanor count of possession of a vehicle with a title or registration not authorized. He was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failing to carry a driver's license.

Police spokeswoman Karie James said Gray wasn't in custody Monday morning, but it wasn't immediately clear when he was released. Chris Alexander, a publicist for 20th Century Fox Television, didn't immediately reply to a message seeking comment.

Smollett was arrested earlier this year on charges alleging he had lied to police when he claimed he was the victim of a racist and homophobic attack in January. Prosecutors later dropped the charges.
