Child Porn Warrant Leads to Pot Bust

Kenneth Froehler was wanted in Colorado for suspicion of child porn

Nearly $30,000 worth of drugs was found  when authorities executed a search warrant on a northwestern suburban home where a man was wanted for child pornography.

Kenneth Froehler, 39, of the 7400 block of Hemlock, in an unincorporated area near Crystal Lake, was wanted in Colorado for child pornography, according to the McHenry County Sheriff's office.

But when deputies arrested him at his home, they discovered a cannabis-growing operation and a large amount of marijuana being processed for distribution, a release from the sheriff's office said.  The drugs were valued at about $27,000.

Froehler was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of cannabis, unlawful production of cannabis and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

His girlfriend, Cindy Dyra, 39, was also with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of cannabis, unlawful production of cannabis, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing a peace officer, the release said.

Dyra was released Thursday after posting $500 of a $5,000 bond. Froehler remained in the McHenry County Jail as of late Friday afternoon.
