Chase Bank was temporarily experiencing a nationwide outage Wednesday afternoon, the impact of which had been felt in the Chicago area, company representatives said.
A Chase employee told NBC 5 the servers between the main banking system and tellers were down.
As of about 3 p.m., company officials said the system was back up and running.
ATMs and the Chase app were not impacted, the bank said.
A Chase spokesman released a statement saying, "Earlier today, we had some issues processing special transactions such as high-dollar cashier’s checks. But we processed other transactions and have posted them. The ATM, online and mobile systems weren’t affected."
