The Chicago Bears are trying to get some key players back in the mix before their Thanksgiving showdown with the Detroit Lions, but with a short week, it would appear that the team will be shorthanded for the NFC North contest.
For the second day in a row, tight end Ben Braunecker and wide receiver Taylor Gabriel were unable to participate in the team’s workouts at Halas Hall as both players deal with concussion symptoms. Head coach Matt Nagy said that it’s unlikely that either player will suit up on Thursday, but the final injury report will not be released until Wednesday afternoon.
For the second day in a row, right tackle Bobby Massie did not practice for the Bears after suffering an ankle injury during Sunday’s win over the New York Giants. Cornerback Sherrick McManis, who injured his groin during the game, was also absent from the practice field.
Tight end Adam Shaheen and linebacker Danny Trevathan remain sidelined with injuries, as Shaheen continues to deal with a foot issue and Trevathan’s elbow continues to keep him out of the mix.
The Bears will travel to Detroit for their game against the Lions, with kickoff set for 11:30 a.m. Thanksgiving.
