Does Sake Suck?

Learn the ins and outs of this complex spirit at a sake dinner at L20

Sake is a sometimes misunderstood and often maligned drink. Just like wine, some widely distributed sakes are on the lower-quality end of the spectrum, which can give the Japanese import a bad rap (too sweet, too bitter, etc.). If you're intrigued by the exotic spirit and would like to learn more (and taste some high-end examples), book a reservation for 6PM at fine-dining destination L20 on Monday, Jan. 26.

Celebrated chef Laurent Gras will welcome noted Las Vegas-based sake expert Eric Swanson for this special dinner. Chef Gras will prepare a five-course Japanese-inspired menu designed to pair well with the complex and delicate flavors of fine sake. Swanson will pour several examples of rare sakes throughout the meal while also sharing his knowledge of the history, impact and evolution of sake from a Japanese-only drink to its growing popularity in the Western world.

The sake dinner will be held in L20's unique Tree Room, named after the striking table made from a fallen walnut tree that serves as the centerpiece. Reservations for the dinner are $195 per person.
