Carter Vo, 8, was killed when a car lost control crashed into him while he was on his bike. Lauren Jiggetts spoke with the boy's family.

Vo was a second-grader at Madison Elementary School. He had dreams of becoming an engineer or a pilot, his father said.

"He was a very sweet kid, with a kind heart," Nhu Vo said of his only son. At a makeshift memorial, Vo recalled how just last week his only son was asking him about what Heaven was like.

"He asked me, how do I know? But I told him we shouldn't talk about nonsense like that," the father said. "Maybe he knew something I didn't."

Skokie police said the results are pending of toxicology exams.
