Jimmy Fallon, Rahm Take Polar Plunge

Jimmy Fallon and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel took a dip into icy Lake Michigan waters Sunday as part of the Polar Plunge.

"The Tonight Show" host told his audience on Wednesday that he accepted Emanuel's challenge to take part in the Polar Plunge without really knowing what he was getting into.

His feet may have been cold but the former Chicagoan certainly didn't get cold feet Sunday.

Fallon charged the icy waters wearing his suit and tie alongside Emanuel and came out looking cold and shocked.

It was a cold day for the plunge, with temps barely reaching into the teens and wind chills even colder as morning snow tapered off. Crews continued to crush the ice as hundreds of participants flooded into the waters as part of the plunge to benefit the Special Olympics.

NBC Chicago is a media sponsor for Sunday's event at North Avenue Beach.
