Experts warn that travel will be difficult, as roads will be snow-covered with limited visibility. Southeast winds from 5 to 15 miles per hour, with gusts up to 25 miles per hour, could further diminish visibility.

Temperatures are predicted to recover slightly into the low- to mid-20s. Flurries may mix or transition to freezing drizzle Sunday night in some parts of the western suburbs. Some light snow showers could linger into Monday morning in some areas.

Another snow system is expected to arrive Tuesday afternoon into early Wednesday morning and could bring more accumulating snow, but there's good news: temperatures are expected to rise through the week to a high of 51 on Friday.
