Police Locate Missing 18-Year-Old Whose Car Was Found in Rogers Park

A missing 18-year-old whose abandoned car was found by police on Tuesday has been located.

The family of Abdelhameed Kouk, a 2015 graduate of Taft High School and freshman at Wright College, owns J & M Mattress and say they use the app Offer Up to make sales. Kouk was supposed to deliver three mattresses Monday and be home by 7 p.m., family said. However, he never arrived to the location and the family called police that night.

“Ten, ten thirty, he didn't answer his phones,” said Ray Ihmud, Kouk’s uncle. “Nobody knows anything about him so it makes the whole family worried about him.”

On Tuesday, officers found his car in an alley in West Rogers Park. The vehicle had damage to the driver's side door.

“They found it in the middle of the alley,” said Baha Ihmud, Kouk’s cousin. “The doors were unlocked, the key was still in the ignition, everything was in place.”

The family was looking for answers Tuesday evening.

“The message I mean for everybody who knows anything about who did that to call the police. Or anybody I mean, so we could bring him back home,” Ihmud said.

Police said late Tuesday Kouk has been located.
