Cubs Game Postponed, Cardinals Have at Least One New Positive COVID-19 Test

Friday's Cubs game has been postponed as an additional Cardinals player has tested positive for COVID-19, Major League Baseball announced Friday.

MLB said the game was postponed to allow for additional testing and to complete the contact tracing process.

The Cardinals were set to return to play Friday for the first time since July 29 after learning late last week two players tested positive for COVID-19. Their series last weekend against the Brewers was postponed, and the scope of the outbreak included 7 players and 6 staff members.

Major League Baseball has yet to make an announcement on Saturday's and Sunday's games but the rest of this weekend's series is in doubt. This marks the first time this season where the Cubs schedule has been disrupted due to COVID-19.

More to come.
