Amid all the talk about whether the "Back to the Future Part II" prediction could come true (we’re still waiting for the Miami Marlins to switch to the American League), the Chicago Cubs just keep winning as Kris Bryant’s walk-off home run delivered a 2-1 win over the Cleveland Indians on Monday afternoon.

With the team a season-high 21 games over .500 and holding a 6.5 game lead over the San Francisco Giants for the second wild card spot in the National League, it's a good time to remind fans of some positive signs that the Cubs could be in line to make a deep postseason run in 2015.

No DeLoreans or hover boards are needed to appreciate these three facts:

— Monday’s win over the Indians gives the Cubs a 20-4 record over their last 24 games. The last time the Cubs had a run like this? In 1945, the last season in which they reached the World Series.

— On Sunday, the Cubs cranked out five home runs and thrashed the Atlanta Braves by a score of 9-3 to secure their fourth four-game sweep of the season. The last season in which the Cubs had at least four sweeps of four game series? You guessed it: 1945.

— In case you had forgotten, the Chicago Blackhawks clinched the Stanley Cup on home ice back in June. The last time the Blackhawks did that? All the way back in 1938, which also happened to be a year that the Cubs appeared in the World Series.
