In appreciation for protecting him from the opposing teams' defenses this year, Bears QB Jay Cutler gifted each of his offensive linemen with free airline tickets this week, according to the Chicago Tribune.
But news of the gift hasn't made its way through the entire organization yet, it seems.
When asked whether he knew about the gift, Tight End Des Clark said "What? That's the first I heard. I'll have to remind Jay tight ends are an extension of the offensive line."
An offensive coach said he "never heard that."
Though Cutler has been the team's most visible addition this year, the offensive line's undergone changes as well.
After playing with five lineman who didn't miss a single game last season, the Bears started 2009 with three new big guys up front.
Over the last 15 weeks, Chris Williams has moved from right to left tackle, while Frank Omiyale has returned to left guard after being benched for four games.

Meanwhile there is some speculation as to whether 12-year veteran Olin Kreutz will return as center. He stated publicly this week he wished to remain a Bear, despite recent public statements suggesting that the team was suffering from personnel issues.
