Plane's Wing Clips Fence at O'Hare

No injuries reported

The wing of a plane clipped a perimeter fence at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport on Saturday as it was preparing for takeoff. No injuries were reported.

Virgin America flight 837 clipped part of a chain link fence with its wing during push-back at about 2:35 p.m., a company spokeswoman confirmed.

"The damage incurred was minor," said Abby Lunardini.

No injuries were reported, according to Fire Media Affairs. There was no fuel and no fire.

Passengers were taken off the San Francisco-bound plane so mechanics could check the aircraft.

Lunardini said the passengers were "compensated for the inconvenience" and re-scheduled on another flight.
