Tom Morello Sends Message to Striking Teachers at Chicago Show

"Peep the back of Tom Morello’s guitar tonight at the Vic Theater! Solidarity!!" the CTU wrote on Facebook.

Musician and political activist Tom Morello sent a message to striking Chicago teachers Tuesday night during his show at The Vic Theatre, and the Chicago Teachers Union took notice.

"Peep the back of Tom Morello’s guitar tonight at the Vic Theater! Solidarity!!" the CTU wrote on Facebook.

A sign on the back of the former Rage Against The Machine band member's guitar read "CTU" in bold letters.

Morello is the latest public figure to publicly support Chicago Public School teachers, who went on strike last week after contract negotiations with city leadership fell through.

On Tuesday, Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren walked the picket line with striking teachers.

"Everyone in America should support you in this strike," Warren said. "And the reason is because when you go out and fight you don’t just fight for yourselves, you fight for the children of this city and the children of this country."

Teachers marched through Chicago's Loop Wednesday morning as Mayor Lori Lightfoot delivered her first city budget address.
