Teen Busted After Porn Found on School Computer

Former St. Charles H.S. student tracked by computer crime experts

It's great to have computers available for students in schools, unless one of those computers ends up housing pornography.

Images and videos found on a St. Charles East High School's computer during a routine audit lead police to a former student and landed the kid in jail.

Piotr Rybak, 18, of St. Charles, was taken into custody from his home Wednesday afternoon and charged with possession of child pornography, St. Charles police said.

On Jan. 7, 2009, employees at St. Charles East were conducting routine audits of computers used by former students in the Learning Resource Center, police said.

During the audit, nude pictures and videos of what appeared to be a young teenage girl were found, police said.

The school resource officer and a St. Charles police investigator trained in computer crimes were able to identify the suspect as Rybak and the victim as his 16-year-old former girlfriend, police said.

The Kane County States Attorney's office authorized three charges of possession of child pornography. Rybak was in custody at the St. Charles Police Department and was to appear in bond court Thursday afternoon.
