Chicago police are still looking for a man who grabbed a 23-year-old jogger Tuesday morning in the DePaul University neighborhood.
The man grabbed the woman and pulled her to the ground in the 1000 block of West Wrightwood Avenue at about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.
She was injured when her head hit the sidewalk, but was still able to scream, causing her attacker to flee.
The man fled southbound on Seminary Avenue, according to a community alert from Alderman Vi Daley's Office, in what a police alert described as "a late, light-colored 1980s Toyota, with four doors and a black stripe around the vehicle."
"Whether it's Lincoln Park, the Gold Coast, or Uptown, wherever it is, I think you need to be aware of your surroundings," said Ald. Scott Waguespack (32nd), adding that he plans on hosting a safety meeting with local businesses.
Waguespack said he'd like to see more cameras, motion lights in the backs of businesses and their alleys, and trees that can be specified as meeting places.
The offender is an Hispanic man, 25-30 years of age, around 5-feet-5, 190-200 lbs., brown eyes and a dark complexion.
The police alert described the man as "chubby," with dark brown hair shaved on the sides. He was wearing a black zip-up hoodie with a maroon colored garment underneath and baggy, dark-colored jeans.
The alderman's office reminded residents to be aware of their surroundings, and not to walk or jog while listening to headphones or talking on a cell phone.
