One person was injured after a second-floor balcony in a West Ridge apartment building collapsed Saturday morning.
The cement balcony collapsed just before 11 a.m. Saturday, according to Commander Frank Velez of the Chicago Fire Department. The three-story building is located in the 6300 block of North Albany Avenue.
One person was standing on the second-floor balcony when it collapsed, causing him to fall into a snow embankment. The man sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Presence Saint Francis Hospital in stable condition, according to Velez.
Other people were trapped in the building after the collapse, but no other injuries were reported, Velez said.
