Before then, he'll get face time in another Midwest town to talk energy and rising oil prices.
Obama heads to Indianapolis Friday to tour Allison Transmission, a facility specializing in hybrid technology, the White House announced Monday.
Allison Transmission is the world’s largest manufacturer of transmissions for medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles and tactical military vehicles. In June 2010, Allison announced the dedication of a new hybrid facility.
During the visit, Obama will discuss his long-term plan to protect consumers from gas prices and decrease oil imports by one-third by 2025.
Obama's 2012 campaign is rooted in Chicago, with his headquarters in the Prudential Building. On April 14, Obama attends a Democratic National Committee event in Chicago, the first of several campaign events.
