President Barack Obama is returning to Chicago -- in re-election form.

Obama's 2012 headquarters will be stationed at the Prudential Building, reports the Sun-Times' Lynn Sweet, who points out part of the location faces the site of Obama's 2008 victory rally and is close to his 2008 headquarters at 233 N. Michigan Ave.

After weeks of looking into downtown locations, Obama 2012 staffers landed on the downtown space to make it a "secure location."

Some of the re-election staff already landed in town, including campaign manager Jim Messina.

The headquarters aren't open yet, but Obama is scheduled to be in Chicago on April 14 for a Democratic National Committee event, the start of several gatherings kicking off the 2012 campaign, Sweet says.
