Police on Friday afternoon temporarily closed Knoch Park where Naperville Ribfest is being held because of weather.
Fest-goers were asked to head to their cars or the Naperville Central High School gym until the park reopens. In a follow-up social media post, officials said that volunteers and vendors are being allowed back into the park, and that the event would re-open to guests at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Forecast models show showers and thunderstorms over the area, but the weather system is moving slowly, leaving open the possibility of localized flooding and heavy rainfall.
Frequent lightning and occasional wind gusts of up to 35 mph are also possible with the storms.
