The Illinois Department of Transportation says that the express lanes on the Kennedy Expressway will be closed to outbound traffic on Friday evening.
Instead, those lanes, typically reversed during the evening commute, will remain in the "inbound" position, IDOT announced in a press release.
The express lanes will close to inbound traffic at 9 p.m. Friday, according to IDOT, and will remain closed as crews clean snow off lanes, shoulders, and on-ramps.

IDOT hopes to re-open the affected lanes by 5 a.m. Saturday.
