The oath of office that Mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel takes on Monday will be administered by Cook County Circuit Court Chief Judge Tim Evans.
"He's also a former candidate for mayor and I think it's also a sense of a city the comes together with a common purpose," Emanuel said Friday in remarks aired on CBS Chicago.
Evans was first elected to the bench nearly 20 years ago as the county's first African-American chief judge. He also formerly served as alderman of Chicago's 4th Ward.
