Chicago's Stanley Cup fever has made it all the way to federal court.

Defendant Peter G. Rogan appeared in Chicago federal court on Friday after waiving extradition from Canada to face health care fraud charges. Rogan has been in Canada since 2006. During his hearing, Judge Samuel Der-Yeghiayan told Rogan that in the years since he was he was gone the Chicago Blackhawks won the prized trophy three times.

Rogan responded that Canada is "hockey crazy" so he was well aware of the Blackhawks' achievements.

Rogan is a former hospital CEO in custody on charges related to allegations he took part in a scheme to bilk government health programs out of tens of millions of dollars. He has pleaded not guilty.
