A homicide investigation is ongoing after a man was found dead Monday night in a parking lot in north suburban Waukegan, authorities said Tuesday.
Few details about the investigation have been released, which began with a report of shots fired about 6 p.m. in the parking lot of a Walmart in the 3900 block of Fountain Square, Waukegan police said.
A man, whose age has not been released, was found on the east side of the parking lot and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. A hit-and-run crash was also reported at the location, but investigators are still trying to determine what happened.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office is also investigating.
