Lil Reese Tweets Apology for Assaulting Young Woman

Video shows Def Jam rapper Lil Reese beating young woman

Chicago rapper Lil Reese issued an apology on Twitter just days after a video that shows him beating up a young woman went viral.

"Everybdy makes mistakes I was out of charcter & ive grown sense then Dont judge me for my past i can admit my wrongs and I apologize.#3hunna," the 19-year-old rapper, whose real name is Tavares Taylor, tweeted Friday evening.

The video, released on World Star Hip Hop, showed Reese punching the girl several times following a verbal altercation.

Initially Reese, who was signed to Def Jam Records earlier this year, dismissed the video on Twitter as something that is years old and that "haters" brought to the spotlight, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

Chicago police aren't investigating the incident because the victim isn't identified and there's no way to tell where it occurred, according to the Sun-Times.

Reese is an hip hop ally of Chief Keef, another popular teen Chicago rapper who has come under fire for mocking the death of murdered rap rival Joseph “Lil JoJo” Coleman. Coleman and Reese were involved in a feud up until the time of his death.
