Chicago Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane had one of the best seasons of his NHL career last year, and he has been rewarded after being named as a finalist for the Ted Lindsay Award.
The award, given to the most outstanding player in the NHL and voted on by the players themselves, is a treasured trophy, and Kane will be one of three men vying for the prize at the NHL Awards later this year.
Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov and Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid are the other finalists for the trophy.
Kane scored 44 goals for the Blackhawks during the regular season, the second-best total of his career, and registered career highs in assists (66) and points (110). Kane has won the Ted Lindsay Award before, capturing the trophy during the 2015-16 season when he led the league in points.
Kane will find out whether he won the award when the NHL hosts its annual awards show on June 19 in Las Vegas.
