No Winner at McHenry VFW's ‘Queen of Hearts' Drawing Tuesday

After another breathless build-up Tuesday night, the big reveal at the McHenry McHenry VFW was another bust.

Exasperation for the man that runs it and the hopeful crowd that supports it.

It was eat, drink and wait for the big new barrel to toss a staggering one million possible winners, in hopes the number on the ticket stub would match the number covering the Queen of Hearts.

“We have people out of state driving two three hours to come here now," said Post Cmdr. Dwane Lungren.

It’s been exhausting for Lungren and his staff. The kitchen alone has never been so slammed, he said.

The payoff will be keeping 20 percent of the pot to fix up the place-from bathrooms to the parking lot plus more money for veterans programs.

But it'll have to wait one more week for a special draw down of the seven remaining cards.

Next week the jackpot could be as high as $7 million and the number tickets in that big barrel as many as two million.
