One Dead After Armored Car Robbery Attempt

One man was killed, one critically injured, according to reports

    Two men were shot by an armored truck security after they attempted to rob an armored car parked outside of Family Dollar this morning in the 3400 block of West Chicago Avenue.

    One man died from his injuries, according to police.

    Witnesses say the men tried to jump an employee of the armored car on his way out of the store.

    The other man was shot multiple times, but did not die. He was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the Sun Times.

    A third robber may have gotten away, according to witnesses. 

    Police received a call at 9:45 a.m. They continue to investigate.
