(STNG Wire) -- A DuSable High School student was stabbed with a pair of scissors by another student this morning at a supervised "conflict resolution" session in the South Side school, officials said.
The male victim was taken in serious-to-critical condition to Stroger Hospital of Cook County, officials said.
The stabbing occurred at the school about 9 a.m., Chicago Fire Department Cmdr. Will Knight said.
School officials were present during the stabbing, which occurred when one student lunged at the victim with a pair of scissors, said Chicago Public Schools spokeswoman Monique Bond.
"The students were in the process of resolving a conflict in a controlled environment with administration officials and possibly a parent present," Bond said, adding that the students are 15 or 16 years old.
Officials said the attacker was in custody this morning, and the scissors were recovered.
