Sometimes the best things in life really are free. Take for example, admission to the Lincoln Park Zoo – it's always free, and during the holiday season, you get something even more for that very low price. The Lincoln Park Zoo Lights illuminate the zoo grounds starting this Friday, Nov. 28-30 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The lights will return the same hours the following weekend Dec. 5-7, and then every day from Dec. 12 through Jan. 4, with the exception of Dec. 24-25 when the zoo is closed.
In addition to the admiring the glittering lights displays, you can get your picture taken with Santa in the Kovler Lion House and enjoy the musical light show extravaganza on the South Lawn. Festive cocktails, spiced wine and beer are available for purchase, so you won't need to worry about warming your insides on a chilly zoo night. And for the energy conscious, this Friday, Nov. 28, the first 500 people to trade in a set of incandescent holiday lights at the Regenstein Center for African Apes will receive a free set of energy-efficient LED holiday lights. Deck the halls without worrying about that electric bill!
