In a rare break from extreme thinking, the University of Chicago Velo Club will be hosting their annual Monsters of the Midway Criterium bike race on Saturday. Beginning at 8 a.m. and wrapping up after 6 p.m., the day will include thirteen timed races (usually 30 minutes around the 1.1 mile course) for men, women and juniors in various categories. Registration, which is set up onsite at 60th and Woodlawn Ave, is $25 for the first race ($15 for riders under 14 and college students) and $15 for subsequent races, plus a $10 USAC day license for those who don’t have annual memberships. Race to vie for cash prizes or just ride over to take in a sporting scene at the university, either way it’ll be a great way to observe bike month!
