The ever-expanding western suburb of Naperville is about to get a brand-new dining destination for steaks, sushi and creative cocktails. Shinto Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar is opening its second location (the first was founded by a brother-sister team in Strongsville, Ohio, in 2004) with a bang on Saturday, Feb. 7.

The grand opening bash, which is open to the public free of charge, kicks off at 4PM with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a performance by Japanese drum troupe Kokyo Taiko. The festivities proceed with appearances by local radio personalities, a bartender "flair and fire" show, a live band and dancing. You'll also get to sample sushi creations, champagne, sake and wines. The evening continues with an after-party in the Shinto Bar & Lounge from 11PM-2AM, complete with a Moet Hennessey tasting and a DJ spinning club hits.

The restaurant also offers a unique element: the area's first smokeless, odorless hibachi grills. Skilled chefs cook your teppanyaki-style entrees tableside without the tell-tale smell to take home with you afterwards. There is also a sushi bar where guests get a front-row seat to see their selections being made. Weekly specials will include $5 martini Mondays, $1 sake flights on Tuesdays, $5 mojitos on Wednesdays, half-priced select wines on Thursdays and $3 sake bombs on Fridays and Saturdays.
